State of Flux is a series of six stars made from binary numbers 1 and 0. Hand stamped directly onto the walls of an old Shanghainese neighbourhood in August 2008, just before the Beijing Olympic Games. The neighbourhood, in the process of being destroyed and replaced by modern, western styled skyscrapers acted as a metaphor and installation space for the displacement of both a people and culture within this new barren, sterile urban landscape.

The walls and works now destroyed, the images exist as a series of large format photographs and a video piece.
